Order of Mass
We gather before God exactly as we are, entering together into the mystery of Christ's presence. Every person is welcome here, with every question, wound, doubt and longing.
We hear the living Word proclaimed among us and allow it to encounter our lives. Scripture draws us beyond ourselves into the mystery of God's life and love.
We bring bread, wine and our whole lives to the altar. By the Holy Spirit, these gifts become the Body and Blood of Christ, truly present among us.
We come to the table where Christ gives himself to us. We receive the real presence of Christ and are drawn more deeply into communion with God and one another.
We are blessed and sent from this sacred gathering into the world. The mystery we have received continues with us wherever we go.

This is an intentionally open space for people of all faiths and for those of no faith.
Order of vigil

The person’s name, the state, the hour, the method. Said once, without commentary.

The length of it is the point.

Scripture chosen for the guilty, plus the condemned person’s own words when they exist.

The names of everyone executed in the United States this year, answered each time with “God, have mercy.”

The message each night is the same: this killing is heresy because it denies that grace flows from this person.
4 min
For the person, for the family of the person they killed, for the executioners, and for the governor who could stop it. We will pray that the execution does not happen.

A benediction that ends with a sending forth to work for a rebirth of love and an end to executions.
